Bloom

I hope my little etsy shop will begin to bloom
I found some gorgeous blooming snow drops, the full and round and look at me kind. Not the usual shy and retiring kind.
My little dog is turning into a white haired snow drop herself. Me too  :-) oh and I might be full and round too, but not that kind of full and round.

I'm re-creating my Etsy shop. A wine box and some chalk paint is helping with that, and a nice branch.

So far so good. I have a few more garlands in there, if anyone would like a look. And a 10% discount code LOVEFEB, to get the ball rolling, which lasts until 17.2.17.

I'm kind of excited...that is it now, my blinkers are on and it's straight on from here. She says with a big plug of her shop. Splosh!

Have a good weekend.

in production!

Hello there here I am making cushions for my new etsy shop! I am feeling very motivated, as those of you who read my last post will know and I'm hoping it wasn't just a one night wonder!! only time will tell.....

I have claimed the living room table to spread out on and am in a flurry of finishing off cushions that I have been making over the last few months.

I thought I would show you some shots of the action. Here is my very favourite wool basket, with a new cover in progress, all essential items which can move around with me.

I am making the covers for these new cushions from a soft corded cotton and have learn't how to put in a zip! It takes some time, but I'm hoping I will get quicker at this!

then a well earned coffee break is needed, the conditions are good here for the workers!

the work force......, and a bit of relaxation......

then I hand sew the crochet to the covers,

I just love the bright colours on the neutral background. These colours feel slightly Cath Kidston to me.....
I use a range of different kinds of wool for these, mainly 100% wool, with the occasional vibrant wool blend. So the overall look is quite eclectic.

lots to finish off......,
It's been difficult to price. A lot of work goes into these and I love them.
I've had to find a price that feels like I am operating at a place of integrity to me, whilst also having one eye on what's out there and how others are pricing their work.....

and on that note, this little cushion packed with colourful retro goodness is now on sale in my shop. Please have a look over. You'll see some new links at the top of the page. Have a look around......(oh and don't spend too long on pinterest or you might get lost!). I will be back in a few days to let you know about a lady who has really inspired me lately. Have a great week!

etsy an overnight sale!

I thought it would be nice to share what happened this morning.

Yesterday after filling in my policies and listing an item on etsy I decided that before I went to bed I would open my shop. Even though I had only one listing so far. Imagine my surprise this morning when I had a look at my shop and realise it wasn't showing any items. I was a bit panicked as I thought my listing hadn't been saved! and I would have to do it again.....well it gradually dawned on me that someone had brought it!!

and there it was in the sold items!..... and yes a very happy and encouraging surprise for me!

So exciting! so I bounced of happily to the post office ready to tell all and sundry, and to send it off on it's journey across the Atlantic!

I just love the combination of colours in this cushion cover and really enjoyed making this. I loved it so much that I actually made another identical one straight after! I still need to make the cover for it and sew the pieces together. So I may re-list this again as a custom order.

Setting up etsy was fairly straight forward, with a paypal account already set up. I was slightly out on the postage, I forgot to add the weight of the packaging! but I think I've done everything I said I would. So hurray for etsy, I'm so pleased!

I have enthusiastically begun another! but I really need to get down to sewing and attaching covers......it's the not quite so much fun bit, although it's very satisfying to see the finished item.

Here is a picture of my next finished cushion, ready to list on etsy. It's a very colourful holly hobby style patchwork cushion.

Likely to add a bust of colour to any corner, I think it would probably be quite good fun in a caravan or children's bedroom. What do you think?.... we are going to need some colourful makes in our lives soon for sure. I have been dodging the rain all day! and now must prise the dog from her blanket again, I hope you all have a good start to the week!
